Writer-Director Vincent Gallo’s dark comedy about a man trying to impress his dysfunctional family after his release from prison. Billy (Gallo) hasn’t told his parents (Anjelica Huston, Ben Gazzara) that he was in prison. Instead, he sent them letters saying that he’s working undercover for the government. Antwone Fisher

By default, movies about real people usually suffer from matters of convenience. Since it’s impossible to accommodate every detail, emotion and event of someone’s life into a two-hour film, they often have to be streamlined or combined to make the final cut.

Interceptor

Captain Christopher Winfield (Andrew Divoff) is miffed. Since his latest test drive of a top secret virtual reality Stealth fighter went wrong, he’s been pulled off the mission. Boat Trip

“Boat Trip” is like one of those “special” 90-minute episodes of “The Love Boat,” with a guest list populated by the off-spring of Big Gay Al from “South Park.” Awash in the most stupefying homosexual stereotypes Hollywood can concoct, “Boat Trip” marks another low point in the career of Cuba Gooding, Jr., whose post “Jerry Maguire” film roles have been one embarrassment after another. The business of strangers

Director Patrick Stettner makes a stunning debut with this intense and taut drama about two businesswomen who find themselves caught in a web of suspense. Stockard Channing is powerful as Julie, a middle-aged executive who realizes that she has sacrificed her life for her career. While on a business trip, Julie gets to know her new assistant Paula (Julia Stiles), who has the same career goals. As the two women become friends, their encounter with a corporate shark (Frederick Weller) turns ugly when Paula reveals his past to Julie, who agrees to help Paula get her revenge.
